Curators Alexandra Chang and Steven Wong bring Circles and Circuits: Chinese Caribbean Art to the California African American Museum. The exhibition is sure to be a visual treat for all the art enthusiasts and history buffs out there, as it shows the merging of both disciplines. This exhibition is part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, which is an effort to explore and highlight the Latin American and Latino art and history in relation to Los Angeles. The series of shows will display artworks and archival materials on Chinese Caribbean art from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present and also highlight the over 500 years history of Chinese diasporic communities in the Caribbean. The exhibition includes artworks of Chinese Caribbean artists from Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Panama. It is on display from now till Feb. 25, 2018 and is free to attend.
